Greg advises our corporate clients on customs and excise procedures as well as general customs and international trade matters inclusive, but not limited to, customs duty-in-abeyance regimes, customs clearing rules, customs valuation, customs risk analysis, legal methods of negotiating and reduction of customs penalties as well as general advice in event of customs litigation and/or conflict resolution under the Cameroon and CEMAC customs code.

Greg has three decades of working experience in the Cameroon Customs Administration. Between 1982 and 2012 he worked at the highest levels in the Customs Administration. Greg is widely read and has attended training sessions and seminars in various key areas such as:: classification of goods and the harmonized system(1985), the handling of investigations on customs commercial fraud in collaboration with Revenue Canada(1994) Management of Human Resources (2001), the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) in collaboration with United States Customs (2002), the measuring of Performance in Management in collaboration with IIREC France (2002); Customs training management in collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Customs(2003); Customs Management Techniques in collaboration with Singapore Customs (2006); Trade Facilitation Techniques for African Countries in collaboration with Japan Customs(2006) and The Border Management of Intellectual Property Rights in collaboration with the US Customs. This wide exposure has made him an authority on customs matters. He is an external consultant to Jing & Partners Law Firm and a member of the International Network of Customs Universities (INCU). He possesses excellent writing and oral communication skills in both English and French.

For 30 years Greg served the Cameroon Customs at various senior
executive positions supervising, coordinating, controlling and
appraising the implementation of the government’s international trade policies in the customs commercial process. During this period he covered all the customs regimes. He was at the helm of the implementation of SYDONIA – the Cameroon Customs computer application that was launched in 2007.He has had dealings with customs authorities in Malaysia, Singapore, Japan and the USA and in each of these countries he undertook trainings in the fields of customs management techniques, trade facilitation, training management and the border management of intellectual property rights.

At 57, Eloi BEKOMBO NDEDI is what might be called a ”Veteran” of customs administration. Graduated from from the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) after a Bachelor degree in economics from the University of Yaoundé in 1981. He joined the Cameroon Customs Administration in 1984. Thus began a long and rich career that will lead to the highest office in the customs.
Inspector visited the customs office of Douala (84-87) International Airport and the Port of Douala (87-88), Manager of the Legal Directorate of Customs (88-91), Head of Department Verification and Clearance of the Main Customs Office Douala Port 2 (91-93), Head of Department of Communication at the Customs Directorate (93-96). 96 to 2000, he combines those functions with those of Chargé d’Etudes No. 1, before being appointed in 2000 as Chief of the National Brigade of Investigations and Research. Thereafter, he will perform as Research Officer at the Ministry of Finance, then as Inspector Auditor to the mixed-cell Taxes Customs He ended his career as Chief of Sector Customs Northwest in 2012 after a passage Garoua, where he held the same position in the North from 2008 to 2010.
During his career, Mr. Eloi Bekombo NDEDI conducted numerous missions and internships around the world: Thailand, UAE, China, France, Belgium, Nigeria, Gabon, Namibia, Hungary Emirates, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal , Burkina Faso, Morocco, Benin, Togo, etc..
Married and father of 4 children, Mr. Eloi Bekombo NDEDI is an Officer of the National Order of Valour was temporary teacher at ESSEC (University of Douala). But we particularly note that it has been for many years Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cameroon Customs.
